The Beginning
A group of passionate individuals, personally affected by Sickle Cell Disease, came together with a shared mission — to bring awareness to one of India's most neglected genetic disorders, especially in tribal and rural communities.
The journey of awareness, compassion, and commitment towards building a healthier and informed society — from 2015 to today.
A group of passionate individuals, personally affected by Sickle Cell Disease, came together with a shared mission — to bring awareness to one of India's most neglected genetic disorders, especially in tribal and rural communities.
Launched our first on-ground awareness campaigns in schools and villages of Chhattisgarh and Madhya Pradesh. Pamphlets, local meetings, and community gatherings helped spread the word about SCD symptoms and prevention.
Partnered with local health workers and NGOs to conduct free SCD screening drives. Over 500 individuals were tested and counseled in their native villages, many getting diagnosed for the first time.
The initiative was formally registered as an organization. With a structured team of doctors, social workers, and volunteers, we expanded our outreach to more districts and established a helpline for SCD patients and families.
Organized multiple screening camps and school awareness programs across tribal belts. Hundreds of families received medical guidance, counseling, and referrals to government hospitals for further treatment.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, we adapted quickly by launching online awareness sessions, webinars, and social media campaigns. Our digital reach grew significantly, connecting thousands of families across India.
Forged key partnerships with government hospitals and state health departments to integrate SCD screening into routine healthcare. Collaborated with ICMR and state governments to strengthen disease surveillance.
Built a robust support network connecting patients, doctors, volunteers, and counselors. Launched a dedicated helpline and patient registry to ensure continuous, long-term support for SCD-affected individuals and families.
Aligned our work with the Government of India's National Sickle Cell Anaemia Elimination Mission. Actively participated in policy discussions and contributed to state-level implementation frameworks for mass screening programs.
Extended our reach to 10+ states, training local health workers and building state chapters. Launched this digital platform to provide resources, news, and helpline access to every corner of the country.
Introduced technology-driven screening tools and a mobile app to streamline patient follow-ups. Organized India's first regional SCD summit, bringing together policymakers, doctors, and patient advocates on one platform.
Building towards the national goal of eliminating Sickle Cell Disease by 2047. Our focus: universal newborn screening, accessible treatment, and empowering every affected family with knowledge, support, and hope.
